    Vintage Head Tongs - Grieshaber Mfg Co. - Macobre Looking Device for Spinal Traction - Skull not included
    Looks like New Old Stock - Unused.
    These specially shaped tongs are used for spinal traction.  The pins on either side of the tongs are screwed into the skull and the S-Hook is attached to a weight to provide traction.   You will receive the S-Hook which has a set of instructions mounted on a small metal plate (See 3rd Picture).   The screws have extremely sharp ends and come with a safety bar when the tongs are not being used.   Interesting piece - not for the squeamish!!!
