Antique Medical Aural Specula, Circa 1880s - 1890s, Made by
Reynards & Co.
Three nesting aural specula made by Reynards & Co. The company's name is on the largest speculum. The three fit into the screw top case.
Reynards & Co. started out as Otto & Reynders in New York. They were in business during the Civil War and they were a minor supplier of surgical sets. Their partnership was dissolved in 1875. John Renders was in business by himself in 1875 and the company become Reynders & Sons in 1879. They were in business until 1900.
